It's amazing how the fanbase for the Sword in the Stone has unanimously considered it fanon that the girl squirrel, or Hazel as the fandom has referred to her as, eventually turned into a human by Merlin and reunited with Arthur, given the amount of fan art online that's dedicated to Hazel as a human. It's practically on the same level of how Star Wars fans refused to believe that Boba Fett died in the sarlacc pit and Darth Maul dying after being sliced in half followed by falling down into a pit. The funny thing is that both of those occurrences of them surviving are now officially canon, lol.
